As Covid raged, PSGCNJ became 100% virtual by migrating all public events, training courses, and operational meetings to Zoom. Raka took the lead and has worked independently to build the project charter. I admire her ability to access subject matter experts, identify the stakeholders, frame the right questions, listen well, and organize the material. She has the innate capacity to easily switch between working independently and as a team member within the Project Management Office. In the end, she delivered a coherent baseline best practices manual for the use of Zoom to the project owner and other stakeholders. This manual establishes a foundation for PSGCNJ to expand virtually.

Raka is an amazing career coach and mentor who can absolutely do wonders. I am extremely impressed by her communication style. She was very efficient in keeping me on track - we had weekly meetings that outlined a set of tasks I was to complete. She is a positive, patient, empathetic, and kind communicator who always took the time to make sure I understood everything, and she continually followed up each week to make sure I was doing okay, I felt empowered by her guidance. She was incredibly skilled in helping me to write, revise, and edit my resume, as English is not my first language. Resume writing is not easy and I was blown away by her thoroughness and dedication. Thank you, Raka, it was an honor to be coached by you.

I met Raka in the Rutgers Writing Center during my senior year when I was aiming to apply for the Rutgers Graduate School of Education with a Landscape Design background. Few tutors in the Writing Center could help me simply state the relationship between both fields, let alone in a creative way; however, Raka managed to pull this off. She was the kind of writer who used her heart to listen to my academic and life experiences. She asked questions to inspire me and tirelessly revised my language to make sure my original thoughts were accurately addressed in a way that best represented my personality and writing style. Raka’s dedication to pursuing high-quality storytelling encouraged me to write 8 drafts with her. Upon the end of my collaboration with her, not only did I have a wonderful personal statement, but I also had a stronger understanding and wider perspective of the connection between my previous academic experiences and future path. I believe Raka is such a successful writer and editor because she has the ability to deeply listen to people’s stories with immense care and patience.

Raka helped me with my application essay for law school. She assisted in organizing my thoughts and assisted with numerous drafts of the essay. She pushed me to write clearer by being more concise and direct about what I wanted to convey. This led to a superior product compared to anything I could write on my own. She also assisted with grammar, punctuation, and style. The best part of the experience was that throughout the process she did not contribute a single word so I had no compunction submitting the essay as my own work. With Raka’s assistance, I was able to gain a sizeable scholarship to a law school that generally does not provide scholarships to individuals with my LSAT score. I would highly recommend Raka for any editing services, she puts a lot of thought, and more importantly heart, into elevating her client’s writing.

Raka served as my Teaching Assistant/Student Mentor for the Rutgers University Knowledge & Power: Issues in Women's Leadership course during the Fall 2015 semester. She was an absolutely wonderful Teaching Assistant/Student Mentor. It was evident that Raka genuinely and deeply cared for our students and wanted to see them be successful. I always knew I could rely on Raka for anything I or our students needed. She consistently contributed excellent ideas to enhance class topic discussions and student learning and engagement. Raka also led large portions of multiple classes and was extremely active in all class discussions. She was truly a partner in coordinating and facilitating our course. More recently, Raka and I reconnected and she has been serving as a Communications & Research Intern for my business. I feel so blessed to have Raka collaborating with me as she is amazingly organized, comprehensive, and creative, has a very strong work ethic, and is an exceptional writer. Any organization would be immensely fortunate to have Raka on their team.
